A. Robert Towbin
A. Robert Towbin is the Executive Vice President of Stephens Inc., a U.S.-based investment bank. From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Towbin was the Co-Chairman and Managing Director at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin Co. In 1994-1995, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Russian-American Enterprise Fund and a Vice Chairman of the U.S. Russia Investment Fund.
From 1987 to 1994, Mr. Towbin was at Lehman Brothers, where he was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Technology Banking. Prior to that, Mr. Towbin worked at C.E. Unterberg, Towbin Co., where he was a Senior Partner and, following the merger with L.F. Rothschild, became a Director and Vice Chairman of the joint firm, L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin Holdings, Inc.
Mr. Towbin is currently a Director of Gerber Scientific, Globecomm Systems and Intertrust Technologies Corporation (privately owned by Sony-Philips-Stephens). Throughout his career, Mr. Towbin has held directorship positions in numerous public and private companies, including AVX Corporation (now Kyocera), Bradley Real Estate (Heritage Realty), Convergent Technology (Unisys), Empire Airlines (now U.S. Air), Graphic Controls Corp. (Times Mirror Corp.), J. Rothschild Holdings, p.l.c. (now St. James Capital), North Fork Bancorporation (now Capital One Financial), Pulte Homes Corp., and Plessey, Inc. (Marconi).
Mr. Towbin holds a BA degree from Dartmouth College.
Rodney Berens is the founder of Berens Capital Management, LLC, a U.S.-based fund of hedge funds. From 1992 to 1998, Mr. Berens was at Salomon Brothers where he was a member of the firm’s five-person Operating Committee and Head of Global Equities. At Salomon, he was also CEO of Europe and CEO of the Asia-Pacific region. From 1975 to 1991, Mr. Berens was at Morgan Stanley, where he was Managing Director, Head of Equity Trading and Head of Global Research. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Berens was an investment manager for the Ford Foundation.
He is currently a Trustee and Member of the Investment Committees of The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the Pierpont Morgan Library and a Non-Executive Director of Pendragon Capital Management Limited. Mr. Berens is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Polyus Gold Mining Company. He also served as a member of the Board of Keystone Property Trust and CTC Media.
Mr. Berens received an MBA from The Wharton School and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Vladimir Kuznetsov is the Chief Investment Officer of Renova Group, responsible for implementation of the Group’s investment strategy. He represents Renova Group on the Advisory and Supervisory Boards of a number of portfolio companies, as well as on the Supervisory Board of the First Fund. Mr. Kuznetsov has more than 15 years of experience in the M&A and financial advisory sector preceded by 8 years of economics and securities markets research experience.
Prior to joining Renova Group in 2001, he was a Managing Partner of Financial Advisory Services LLC, an M&A advisory boutique. From 1992 to 1998 Mr. Kuznetsov was the Deputy General Director of Goldman Sachs and the General Director of Solomon Brothers offices in Moscow.
Mr. Kuznetsov holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Moscow, an MA degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a BA degree in Mathematical Economics from Moscow State University.
