SPSR Express, one of the largest Russian express delivery companies, increased its revenues by more than 25% in the first half of 2010 compared to the same period in 2009.

The growth trend in Russia is continuing which is a sign for the revitalisation of the country’s economy, said I. U. Krasnopolskaya, Marketing Director at SPSR. “In particular, industries such as electronic commerce, banking and telecommunications are growing actively. We are constantly monitoring the situation on the market and offer new services with the main aim to maintain our customers' businesses in terms of logistics and express delivery.”

“During the first half of the year, we have introduced services such as next-day delivery by 18:00 (‘SUPER-EXPRESS 18:00’) and ‘in trust delivery’ to the recipient. We also created solutions for the delivery of goods for online stores and companies selling via catalogues and implemented a special logistics service for the telecommunications industry,” Krasnopolskaya added.

This year, SPSR has continued investing in improving its service quality and innovative technology. This enabled it to streamline its own route network while reducing transportation times and offering customised solutions for customers from different industries.

Last month, SPSR launched a new time-definite express delivery service ‘SUPER-EXPRESS 13:00’ providing door-to-door delivery to customers not later than 13 p.m. on the next working day.

The service is offered for shipments weighing up to 25 kg with a declared value of not more than RUB 500,000 (€12,742). With the new solution, customers can send urgent documents and goods from Moscow to St. Petersburg and to Moscow from cities including St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Ufa and Novosibirsk. SPSR plans to expand the geographical coverage of the service in the near future.

"Delivery at a particular time is one of the most popular services on the market of express delivery, which obviously has an impact on the product portfolio of any logistics company,” said Pavel Repin, Director of Sales at SPSR EXPRESS. “Considering the needs of our customers and peculiarities of their business, we have extended our offer of classical express delivery optimising the company’s processes. At the moment, we offer our clients services with various terms of delivery including delivery by 18 pm the next working day (SUPER-EXPRESS) and delivery by 13 pm the next working day (SUPER-EXPRESS 13:00).”

The service SUPER-EXPRESS 13:00 also offers the opportunity to track the delivery status on the SPSR website and additional services with SMS alerts providing copies and originals of invoices with the signature of the recipient.

SPSR said it expects the share of sales from the new service to reach 5% of the company’s overall product portfolio by the end of this year.

Since its launch in 2001, SPSR has been consistently generating double-digit growth. Starting with express mail, the company has grown to become a major express operator across Russia thanks to its own branch network which is the most advanced on the Russian market. Operating a delivery fleet with vehicles of different capacities, SPSR provides door-to-door delivery of mail and cargo to all regions of Russia.
